THE BRIEF
Jason was approached by Hinton Farms to project and design manage all aspects of their proposed project entailing a farmer’s cottage, feed pad, drying bed and upgrades to the farm’s races around this new infrastructure and the existing cowshed. By using an independent project manager Hinton Farms management were able to focus on their core business while a construction specialist planned, procured and delivered their new infrastructure needs meaning the farm never stopped producing during the construction period.
SCOPE OF SERVICE
We were engaged to procure consultants, procure Consents, procure Construction Services, Administer the contracts and deliver the new infrastructure to time and on budget. We engaged with three companies, working with them in a competitive environment to find where further savings could be achieved and adopting the best solution possible. We then engaged the best of these three companies under a design and build agreement and worked with them through the design, consent and delivery of the project.
THE OUTCOME
By carrying out a robust procurement plan we were able to lock in costs up front and deliver the project with no surprises and on time for the change in seasons. This provided the Farm manager with a turn key delivery that saved time and money.
